| Types of Yoga Classes
| Raja Yoga - or Royal Path Yoga explores your connection with your true nature, your real self. We will learn Yoga poses, breathwork, concentration, and meditation in the classical tradition. All Raja Yoga classes are mixed level.
| Healing Yoga for Cancer Survivors - Several studies have demonstrated the benefits of Yoga for cancer survivors, including better health, less fatigue, improved physical and social functioning, as well as a reduction of the side-effects of treatment. Niroga has been conducting Healing Yoga classes at the Herrick campus of Alta Bates Hospital for the last several years, generating an overwhelmingly positive response. Says Deena, "This Yoga class is the one truly healing activity I’ve participated in since my cancer diagnosis 8 years ago." And Judy adds "This Yoga class is one of the most healing experiences I’ve had after all the toxicity of treatment - surgery and chemo. It is very important to me!" The classes are gentle and relaxing, yet restoring and invigorating, helping heal our bodies, minds, and spirits. No prior Yoga experience is necessary, and all levels are welcome.
