Westerbeke Ranch combines California Mission elegance with casual country charm. Just an hour away from the Bay area, it is situated in the heart of the wine country, in Sonoma County’s Valley of the Moon. Set in 100 acres of unspoiled beauty, lush garden paths and ancient oaks, the setting is beautiful, natural, peaceful, and restful. There are congenial accommodations in redwood cabins, and a spacious practice room. A hot tub, pool, and therapeutic massage are available for your enjoyment and relaxation. Gourmet meals are specially prepared and served in the beautiful Mexican tiled dining room, or in the outdoor patio.
Bidyut (BK) Bose learned Yoga from his father since he was a child, and later with monks in the Himalayas. A teachers’ teacher, his classes are an exercise in mindfulness, facilitating deep introspection while gently building flexibility, endurance, balance, and strength - invigorating and challenging, while deeply relaxing and restoring. Several senior teachers will assist BK.year.
Niroga is bringing yoga to those that need it most at-risk youth who are homeless, abused, exploited, delinquent, or incarcerated, giving them the life skills needed to realize the power and possibilities within themselves. We also bring yoga to seniors, cancer patients, and people in rehab and recovery. A plethora of strong partnerships have been developed, allowing us to serve hundreds of people a week. Check out an 8-minute video highlighting our work with delinquent youth in Oakland. We also recently started a year-long program at Alameda County Juvenile Hall, bringing Yoga, Breathwork, and Meditation daily to incarcerated youth in their Mental Health Unit. We have developed psychometric tools to measure changes in general health, stress (and anxiety and depression) and self-awareness (and self-control and self-esteem) with regular practice.
