The Enneagram System of Personality Types

Combining traditional wisdom and modern psychology, the Enneagram is a powerful tool for understanding ourselves and the people in our lives. Since 1971 in Berkeley, this system of nine personality types has been used to understand personality, to bring awareness and compassion to relationships, and to work with specific obstacles to personal and spiritual growth. First developed by transpersonal psychologists in the Bay Area, the Enneagram has travelled to many countries around the world for use in schools, businesses and religious congregations.

In this introductory workshop we will look at this model of three centers of intelligence - mind, emotion, and body - and nine personality types with their strengths and challenges. Working with the Enneagram can help us become more successful in our relationships at home and at work. By understanding our own patterns, automatic reactions and blind spots, we become more flexible and skillful with others. At another level, the Enneagram offers a path for developing our inner life and opening to the presence of Spirit within us.

Peter O'Hanrahan began working with the Enneagram in 1978. He currently teaches Enneagram workshops in the US, Europe, and China, including the Instinctual Subtypes, the Embodied Enneagram, and Leadership Development. He is an associate trainer for the Enneagram Professional Training Program founded by Helen Palmer and David Daniels M.D. as well as EnneagramWorldwide.com. He has been a counselor and body therapist in the East Bay for over 30 years, using the Enneagram in his practice with individuals and groups.
