Sri Karunamayee will guide participants in music meditation through group singing. Music will be based on North Indian classical foundations, providing a supportive framework for participants to enter deeply into sound. No prior music training necessary.
Sri Karunamayee’s singing joins spirit and sound in its most profound expression. Renowned for her soul-inspiring music, her artistry is highly regarded in India and worldwide. Whether she renders her own compositions or draws from classic repertoire, her music represents the finest synthesis of India’s highly specialized and demanding vocal genres. As well as being an 'A' class artist for All India Radio for over 58 years, she has also served the Sri Aurobindo Ashram in New Delhi for decades, providing music for the daily meditations, special events and for the ashram's extensive education endeavors. Her music is highly regarded for its meditative and yogic qualities and many of her own compositions are inspired by the sacred texts of diverse faith traditions. She travels internationally, fostering music as a sacred pathway to the Divine, and as a bridge of interfaith understanding.
