K.V Mahabala has been studying Indian classical Music for over 25 years. After having initial education of music with his first teacher, Sri Yoga Narasimha in Mysore, he joined Gandharva Maha Vidhyalaya in New Delhi. There he furthered his studies with Pandit Uma Shankar Mishra, a senior disciple of legendary Pandit Ravi Shankar and renowned Sitarist in his own right. When Mahabala moved to the Uniied Slates in 1992, prominent musicians like Pandit Krishna Bhatt and Pandit Soumitra Lahiri further developed his passion for music. Currently, he is studying under the guidance of "Hansa Veena" maestro Pandit Barun Kumar Pal, a senior disciple of Pandit Ravi Shankar. K.V. Mahabala has developed a very spiritual approach that is reflected in his music.
