Yoga Therapy Research

Niroga is interested in investigating Yoga Therapy, the use of Yoga to treat medical conditions.  More specifically, Niroga, in conjunction with other research organizations, would like to anwser two questions:

1) Is Yoga Therapy effective at treating certain chronic conditions?
2) If Yoga Therapy is effective, how and why is it effective?

There are several organizations currently working on Complementary Medicine generally, and Yoga Therapy. Two of these organizations, Osher Center for Integrative Medicine at UCSF (OCIM) and Institute of Health and Healing at CPMC, SFO (IHH), are potential partners for research into Yoga Therapy. Furthermore, Niroga is independently engaged in single-subject studies on chronic back pain.
