Transformative Life Skills (TLS) Training

Transformative Life Skills (TLS) is a powerful application of mindfulness practices for creating and managing environments for wellness and recovery. It includes yoga, breathing techniques, and meditation, which, when integrated, are effective for creating and managing environments for wellness and recovery. TLS is widely viewed as a cost-effective front-line prevention and intervention strategy for physical and behavioral health, education, and violence prevention.

This training is for anyone. You do not need to be a certified yoga teacher or student of yoga. CEU's are available for mental health professionals and educators.

The training is usually conducted in two 3-hour modules: The first half of the training has an internal focus (on the participant) and the second half has an external focus (application for clients/students/staff).

Topics covered

  • The scientific basis of TLS in developmental neuroscience, somatic psychology, and stress resilience.
  • An overview of the benefits of the TLS protocol for special populations
  • Exploration of personal stressors and how to operate from an optimal state
  • Through experiential practice, learn the fundamentals of a 15-minute TLS protocols for stress-management and self-care
  • How to apply TLS in the work environment with clients, staff, and youth for stress reduction, increased resilience, better attention control, and improved emotional regulation
