Trauma-Informed Dynamic Mindfulness: Building Stress Resilience, Emotion Regulation and Empathy, California Student Mental Wellness Conference
Sacramento, CA | January 22-23, 2019
Join BK Bose, Founder and Executive Director, and Yvonne Evans, Education Program Consultant, CA Dept. of Education, for our workshop, Trauma-Informed Dynamic Mindfulness: Building Stress Resilience, Emotion Regulation and Empathy (date and time to be determined). In our workshop, you’ll learn how trauma and PTSD are endemic in students that are challenged with emotion regulation and school engagement. This presentation will discuss the impacts of chronic stress and trauma on brain and behavior, and present Dynamic Mindfulness (DMind), an optimal intervention validated by the latest research in neuroscience, trauma, and somatic psychology. Participants will also engage in a brief DMind practice, and feel its power and potential for themselves.
Wellness Together, in partnership with the California Department of Education, welcomes you to the 2019 California Student Mental Wellness Conference as we work together to advocate for the mental wellness of California's students, families, and educators. Join over 900 educators, school administrators, policy-makers, and school mental health professionals for two days of networking with colleagues, gaining evidence-based tools, and celebrating common goals. Conference participants will learn how to use practical skills form the state’s leading voices in student mental health, promote student mental wellness, create a positive school climate, and address social-emotional barriers to increase student learning.
