Frequently Asked Questions About Movement-Based Mindfulness

Most practices last between 2 and 10 minutes, making them easy to incorporate into high-stress environments and busy schedules. These short practices are based on neuroscience: brief sessions of mindful movement and regulated breathing can shift the autonomic nervous system, reduce cortisol levels, improve focus, and break cycles of reactivity. They can be used proactively to set a positive tone for the day or reactively to calm feelings of overwhelm in the moment.

No prior experience is necessary. Our program is tailored for both complete beginners and experienced practitioners. Because the practices emphasize movement and are highly guided, participants learn through direct, embodied experience rather than abstract concepts alone. We provide step-by-step training, coaching, and digital resources to ensure that everyone feels confident and maintains consistency, regardless of their skill level.

Trauma-informed care is a fundamental aspect of our methodology. Our practices focus on safety, pacing, choice, and accessibility. Movement sequences are carefully designed to help regulate the nervous system without causing overwhelm. Breathwork is introduced gradually to prevent any discomfort, and centering practices emphasize grounding and individual agency. Our approach aligns with current research in somatic psychology, polyvagal theory, and trauma-responsive education.

Niroga has provided support to educational systems across the state, including large school districts, probation departments, and corporate organizations. Our scalable model features train-the-trainer pathways, continuous coaching, and digital tools that guarantee consistency and long-term sustainability. Programs can be tailored to align with each organization's goals, staffing structures, and community needs.

Our asynchronous Dynamic Mindfulness training, along with the InPower App, guided videos, and remote training options, enables organizations to implement mindfulness practices in in-person, online, or hybrid formats. These digital tools support regular practice, ensure consistency across teams, and make mindfulness accessible regardless of location or scheduling constraints. We customize our training to meet your organization’s specific requirements.
