Why Movement and Mindfulness Are Urgently Needed Now

We are living in a time of continuous activation, social division, global instability, systemic inequity, and constant information overload, which are placing significant strain on the nervous systems of individuals of all ages. Without support for regulation:

  • Learning becomes harder

  • Relationships become more reactive

  • Burnout accelerates

  • Communities lose the capacity to respond thoughtfully

Mindfulness, particularly when rooted in movement and body awareness, provides a practical, evidence-based approach to restoring balance and agency. Your support ensures that these tools reach classrooms and communities before stress escalates into long-term harm.

How Your Donation Creates Sustainable Impact

Real change happens when practices are accessible, consistent, and embodied.

Your donation supports movement-based mindfulness programs, like Dynamic Mindfulness, designed for practical environments, not ideal conditions. Niroga’s approach emphasizes brief, repeatable practices that can be used daily in classrooms and community spaces, for all kids and their caretakers to build strong foundations for lasting wellbeing.

Prevention | Early Childhood, TK-12 Schools & Higher Ed

  • Equipping students with vital life skills for learning, resilience and healthy coping

  • Ensuring educator self-care to counter compassion fatigue and burnout

  • Nurturing families with tools to deepen well-being and strengthen relationships

Intervention | Alternative Schools & Juvenile Halls

  • Disrupting the school-to-prison pipeline with students most impacted by inequity

  • Supporting incarcerated youth to provide trauma-informed tools for rehabilitation

  • Guiding school staff and probation officers to enhance well-being and efficacy

Recovery | Schools & Communities

  • Providing communities with mindfulness practices to augment trauma healing

  • Training mental health professionals to support the needs of the whole person

  • Building capacity in communities to recover, and prevent future tragedies

A Message From Our Founder

Solutions for root causes

Chronic stress is the root cause of several interelated problems in health care, education, and public safety.

- Bidyut K Bose, Founder & Executive Director

Sponsor Access to Mindfulness for Underserved Communities

Finding power within

I'm not getting as mad anymore because I can calm myself now using mindfulness...We use it every morning so it helps me a lot to get the stress off of me, so I can move on.

- High School Student

Creating community leaders

My goal is to have our students show their parents how to breathe, how to calm themselves. They could teach their younger brother or little sister...create a snowball effect...that's beautiful! We're going to change this community, not just our school.

- Vice Principal, Middle School

Let's Invest in Empathy, Equity, and Empowerment

Equity means meeting stress with support, not silence. Many of the communities Niroga serves face the highest levels of stress and the fewest prevention resources. Your donations help ensure that access to mindfulness is not limited by budget or circumstance.

"Having kids realize, through mindfulness, that they have control over their bodies, over their mind, that’s really powerful.”

Michelle Matson, 3rd Grade Teacher at King-Chavez Elementary School

"I always felt like if you could create a culture where kids felt safe, they felt loved and they felt appreciated, and the staff felt the same exact way, you’d get the best from your staff and the best from your students.”

John Jimno, Principal at Park Middle School

“Instead of more stress and, like, hatred in your body, it’s more like calm and peacefulness in your mind so that you can get through the day better.”

Jayden, Student at Mission High School
